Salary ranges are percentiles calculated from 46 job listings for this role and city, all sourced from Seek.com.au. Of those, 22.9% stated a salary directly. The remaining 77.1% carried a range estimated from the listing, so this median blends advertised and estimated pay. Figures represent what employers advertise and may differ from actual compensation. Fewer than a quarter of these listings stated a salary, so the median leans heavily on estimates.

Understanding the Sydney Market

Product managers earn $160,000 in Sydney and Melbourne alike, with the median unchanged and listings up from 43 to 46. At 30% the spread is tight for a senior commercial role, running $125,000 to $172,000, which suggests consistent scope across employers. The senior band's floor and median are both $160,000, so the tiering adds little. Only 23% of listings stated a salary, so precision is limited.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a good starting salary for a junior Product Manager in Sydney?
The $125,000 floor assumes commercial or technical experience, so product management is generally a second career. Business analysis at $160,000, engineering and marketing are the common routes in. Roadmap ownership, customer discovery and working directly with engineering teams are what listings name at the lower end.
Is $160,000 a good salary in Sydney?
Yes. At $160,000 a product manager earns 68.4% above Sydney's all-roles median of $95,000, with take-home near $2,164 a week, which absorbs the city's living costs. Melbourne pays the same nominal figure at a lower cost base. It sits level with business analysis, project management and finance management at $160,000.
How much does a Senior Product Manager make in Sydney?
Senior listings run $160,000 to $200,000 with a median of $160,000, identical to the overall figure, so the senior label adds nothing on median. Head of product and director roles sit above this range. The tight band means company stage rather than title is what moves this figure.
